The
Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation (now known as Susan G. Komen
for the Cure) was founded in 1982 in honor of Susan Goodman Komen by her
sister Nancy Goodman Brinker. The
pink ribbon was first used in connection with breast cancer awareness
in 1991 when the Susan G. Komen Foundation gave them to the
participants in a New York City race for breast cancer survivors. The following year, 1992, the pink ribbon was made the official symbol of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Now,
every October, organizations and individuals around the world support
the fight against breast cancer with races, fund drives and many other
types of events.
Our pleated fans help to give a visual reminder to the significance of any Breast Cancer Awareness Event. The way
pleated fans are measured is the 1st number is the drop down and the
second number is the top width. For example, a 12" x 24" pleated fan is
24" across the top and drops down 12".
