Independence Bunting Presents National Conventions 2016 [Infographic]
This infographic contains all you wanted to know about the Republican National Convention and Democratic National Convention but were too scared to ask.
If you don't understand how the Democratic National Convention or Republican National Convention work, don't worry. You are not alone. These conventions have been evolving for over a century and are steeped in tradition. While this election cycle has taught us that nothing is set in stone, changing the way the conventions work will be a very slow process.
Modern election years have matched Olympics years, but the Republican National Committee decided to schedule its 2016 convention in July this year, before the Olympics, as they do not want to compete for headline space. And of course, the Democratic National Committee responded by pushing up their 2016 convention, which will be held mere days after the Republican National Convention.
So, how does it all work? When did these conventions start? Where will they be held? How are delegates selected? How does the balloting process work? Independence Bunting decided to liven things up with this infographic to answer all these questions and more.
