Mourning Funeral Bunting in Purple and Black
Funeral Bunting
If you're sourcing purple bunting or funeral bunting for a fire station, police department, or memorial service, Independence Bunting supplies black-and-purple and all-black bunting fabric by the yard, sewn in the USA rather than printed.
Black symbolizes mourning; purple represents the protection law enforcement and fire departments provide their communities. Departments commonly drape this bunting across building façades, apparatus bays, and entryways for the duration of a mourning period.
Fabric is available in a heavy-weight poly-cotton blend or 100% Solar-Max nylon, with a 5-yard minimum order, custom cut lengths, and optional grommets for hanging - the same construction used across Independence Bunting's mourning pleated fans and bows.
How to Decorate With Bunting Fabric
Bunting fabric is one way to show your respect and appreciation for a life lost. There are many ways to honor those who have passed away with bunting fabric, including:
- - Displaying mourning fabric in a funeral procession on a firetruck.

- - Arranging bunting on fences or porch railings at the family's home or church.
- - Decorating building exteriors at a fire station, police station or town hall.

FAQ
Where can I buy purple bunting for a fire station?
Independence Bunting supplies black-and-purple funeral bunting by the yard, sold with a 5-yard minimum. It's cut to order and can be shipped directly to a fire station, police department, or family home.
What does purple and black funeral bunting symbolize?
Black is the traditional color of mourning. Purple represents the protection that law enforcement and fire departments provide their communities. Departments often display both together, sometimes with a department logo added to the center.
How much funeral bunting do I need for a building exterior?
Measure the doorway, apparatus bay, or façade section you plan to cover before ordering. Bunting ships as one continuous piece, and Independence Bunting can cut it to your specific lengths - note the measurements in the order comments at checkout.
Is this bunting suitable for outdoor use at a memorial service?
Yes, in the 100% Solar-Max nylon option, which is built for extended outdoor exposure and resists UV fading. The poly-cotton blend is better suited to indoor use or a shorter, single-day outdoor display.
